Yesterday night Dancing With The Stars started its new season and it was already known that it would be a hit but the question was, how much of a hit? It was more or less the same hit as last season (September 2008) premiere (24.34 million, 5.3/13) but bigger than last year (March 2008) premiere (21.15 million, 5.6/15).
Again, it was known that DWTS would make an impact on other networks results but the question was the same, how much? House was down in viewers (12.13 million) but still good in the 18-34 (4.6/14) the best of the hour even though DWTS won the 18-49 with 5.4/14. CBS and NBC saw their viewers reduced in almost 1 million each.
I was really surprised to see how good 24 did at 9pm. It's not the big hit it was before but it has a very loyal audience because it's stable around the 11 million viewers no matter what (aren't we all afraid he will come and torture us if we stop watching?). We cannot say the same about NBC Heroes which, after being announced its renovation for next season, saw the audience drop again (this time to 6.63 million viewers and fourth in the 18-49 ranking).
