Season 2

So cute :)

While we prepare our credit cards to buy the Blu-Ray of season 1 (May 19), here you have some promotional photos of season 2 starting June 14. Can't wait for it to start!!!

Viewers or demos?

From American Ryan

If you ask me, demos, of course. It seems that's the number networks are looking when the time for a renewal comes. Yesterday night FOX and ABC tied at demos with 4.2/11 while ABC had more viewers, and CBS was just behind with 4.1/10.
Things that I found interesting:
  1. Even with more competition Gossip Girl was up this week (OK, just a bit, but up)
  2. 24 came back to its regular numbers (House lead-in helped, of course)
  3. Good performance of the new episodes of House (being aired after busted this show to heaven!)
  4. Has Heroes reached its lowest level??
  5. Will Dancing with the stars ever have better numbers than American Idol?? (They are near but...haha...keep trying ABC...keep trying....)

Touchdown!!

The new pact covers the show's fourth and fifth seasons, which will consist of 13 segs apiece. It continues the innovative partnership between the Peacock and the satcaster that saved "FNL" from cancellation this season, the third for the Peabody-winning series revolving around a high school football team in a small Texas town. Series, shot in Austin, Texas, hails from Brian Grazer's Imagine TV, Peter Berg's Film 44 shingle and Universal Media Studios.

Family night

With no original episode of Desperate Housewives on air, CBS became the king of the night. Talking about kings...I really really thought that show would be the comeback of NBC but...it is really not working. Yesterday night, even it followed the Bayhill Golf Tournament which managed to be second in the demos, Kings was only watched by4.45 million viewers and 1.3/ 3 among adults 18-49 at 8 p.m. One hour later, the Celebrity Apprentice went up again to 8.51 million viewers and a 3.2/ 8 among adults. I have never seen the show, but it looks very promising and revies seemed to be positive. I guess it's just the NBC effect...

Celebrity Apprentice (NBC)
9:00 p.m. – Viewers: 6.55 million (#4), A18-49: 2.3/ 5 (#4)
9:30 p.m. – Viewers: 7.87 million (#3), A18-49: 3.0/ 7 (#2t)
10:00 p.m. – Viewers: 9.65 million (#2), A18-49: 3.8/ 9 (#1)
10:30 p.m. – Viewers: 9.98 million (#1), A18-49: 3.9/10 (#1)

CBS could get the number one in both demos and viewers thanks to the basketball, 60 minutes and The Amazing Race which were very strong.
On ABC, a new edition of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition managed to go up from number 2 to number one in both demos and viewers from 8p.m. to 9.30 p.m. as you can see in the details.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (ABC)
8:00 p.m. – Viewers: 9.24 million (#2), A18-49: 2.8/ 8 (#3)
8:30 p.m. – Viewers: 10.35 million (#2), A18-49: 3.3/ 8 (#2)
9:00 p.m. – Viewers: 11.43 million (#2), A18-49: 3.8/ 9 (#2)
9:30 p.m. – Viewers: 12.16 million (#1), A18-49: 4.2/10 (#1)

Nothing new happened on FOX, but Family guy did pretty good becoming number one among adults 18-49 with 4.2/10.

Taking Chances

I started to like this girl as soon as I heard she was chosen to be the fourth judge (sorry Paula) on American Idol. But then, after spending hours reading on the internet about her and her work, I just loved her. She even has a "group" called Platinum Weird from which I expect we will hear more after her career has been launched to the top. I didn't know she could sing that well. Give it a listen and hope you like her ;)

No matter how, no matter when

It doesn't matter the day Idol is on air. It becomes instantly the most watched show of the night. Affected by Obama's press conference, FOX moved Idol to Thursday and started the night with 200 million viewers growing to 24 million in just 30 minutes. At 9pm ABC got the leadership with Grey's Anatomy with very good numbers too, most of all in the demos. Full details following.

Idol sits on top again

After Obama's press conference on Tuesday, Idol performances show was moved back to Wednesday and it of course affected all networks. This week's show allowed FOX to win the night easily with 25.6 million viewers and 9.2/23 between 8pm-10pm. Haters of the show say everywhere that the show is already done but numbers don't say that. Idol has lost almost 10% of the audience but it's still the number one show on TV and it is by far. What's more, seeing numbers on detail, audience grows every half hour and that's something important for a show (you can see details at the end of the post).
Meanwhile, on ABC Lost didn't do as good but we shouldn't worry about it because the show is already renewed for the last season next year. And even more, I think yesterday's episode was just a normal one but...12th episode is suposed to be....ok...I won't spoil anything :)
Full details, after the break (in honor of Ryan).
